Terms of Service

Welcome to URateMee. By accessing or using our platform (the "Service") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By creating an account you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

2. Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access at support@yourateme.com.
  • You may not share your account with others or create accounts using automated methods.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you post (reviews, ratings, photos). By posting, you grant URateMee a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and promote that content on the Service.

You agree not to post content that:

  • Is false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent.
  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • Contains hate speech, harassment, or threats.
  • Includes personal data of others without their consent.
  • Violates any applicable law or regulation.

We may remove content that violates these Terms without notice.

4. Business Listings & Claims

RateMe owners may claim a business listing on URateMee by submitting verification documents. By claiming a listing you represent that you are the authorised representative of that entity. Fraudulent claims may result in permanent account suspension and legal action.

5. Advertising

Advertisers who submit carousel ads through the self-serve portal agree that all ad content complies with applicable advertising standards and these Terms. Ads are subject to review and approval before going live. We may reject or remove ads at our sole discretion.

6. Subscriptions & Plans

Certain features of the Service require a paid plan. Plan features, pricing, and billing cycles are described on the Pricingpage. All purchases are processed through our payment provider. Refunds are subject to the refund policy displayed at checkout. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

7. Prohibited Conduct

  • Scraping or bulk downloading platform data without written permission.
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
  • Using the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.
  • Circumventing any security or access controls on the Service.
  • Using the Service for any unlawful purpose.

8. Intellectual Property

All platform code, design, trademarks, and brand assets are owned by or licensed to URateMee. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks or brand elements without prior written consent.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that reviews, ratings, or other user-generated content are accurate or reliable. URateMee is not responsible for decisions made based on information found on the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, URateMee shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or a prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance.
